IIS Classrooms

Our students are our most valuable assets. We realize they will spend many of their awake hours with us; thus, we are making every effort to make them comfortable as well as allowing for proper educational experiences. Our classrooms are characterized by:

1-   Adequate space for each child. Children need to feel comfortable and at home! Our main campus classrooms will be approximately 100 sq. meters.  We have had to compromise a little in our temporary building but still will allow ample space for each child to move about the room.

2-   Classroom furniture is organized in a Centered Learning Environment. Many different teaching and learning stations will be in each room; such as areas for reading, music, art, technology, and story-telling. Centered Learning provides opportunities for a variety of activities to take place at the same time.

3-   Classroom furniture is of a very high quality with all children's safety standards taken into consideration. Each student will have his/her own personal "space" to store items and materials not currently needed. Students will be held responsible for keeping this area neat and tidy always. The furniture has been professionally designed for our school.

4-   "Glass walls".  The majority of the classroom walls are double-glazed glass. This allows for natural light to enter the classroom but isolates sound.

5-   All classrooms are supplied with air-conditioning units and proper circulation of air.

6-   "Technology". Technology integration into the curriculum is one of our main objectives. Each classroom has at least 4 computers and a SMART board. Multimedia facilities are available for displaying audio-visual educational resources. Students will use all of this equipment daily.
